Why Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels matter in St. Louis
Tens of thousands of homes built from the 1950s through the 1980s in St. Louis County, North County, and older parts of St. Charles were fitted with Federal Pacific Stab-Lok or Zinsco panels. Independent testing found these breakers can fail to trip under fault conditions. Many insurers in Missouri now require replacement before writing or renewing a policy. How long does a panel upgrade take?
Most 200-amp residential upgrades are finished in one day. Power is off for roughly four to six hours while we swap the panel and Ameren reconnects the service.
Do I need a permit for a panel upgrade in St. Charles County?
